Wow what an amazing feeling! Last night Mark and I dressed up to attend the Rural Community Council’s annual awards night and dinner. We were selected as a finalist for the Rural Business Award category for our new Farmer Barnes Dairy enterprize. We were absolutely shocked to be named this years winner and to be presented with a lovely glass engraved trophy – it felt like Leicestershires’ equivalent of The Oscars! We had to go up on the well lit stage to receive our award from the sponsor and last years worthy winners, NFU Mutual – Market Harborough (very relevant) and smile for the cameras!
It has been quite a phenominal year! Building a brand new dairy farm, setting up Farmer Barnes Dairy, to now being recognised for all our hard work and determination. I would have like to have done a “thank you” speach on the night but there wasn’t time, so I’m going to do it now. Firstly I would have thanked my parents Robert & Ann Waterfall for their huge support and to my family, Charlotte, Harry and of course Mark for putting up with my mad ideas and life!
Thank you Leicestershires’ Rural Community Council for an amazing evening and for putting on such a wonderful event.
